Summer of shale, 2016

Summer undergraduate researchers Stephanie Plaza-Torres, Liam Bhajan, and Paulo Linarde Dantas Mascena have been hard at work analyzing Paleozoic shale samples from the Yukon and Alaska North Slope for their iron, carbon and sulfur geochemistry. Meanwhile Erik Sperling and Tom Boag joined collaborator Dr. Justin Strauss (Dartmouth College) for fieldwork in North Yukon: collecting more shale samples from the Road River Group, and describing and collecting a new Ediacaran fossil site near the Arctic ocean.
