GS135A trip to the Monterey Formation, Santa Barbara coast
Several members of the Historical Geobiology Lab attended the GS135A fieldtrip to the Santa Barbara area over spring break. Class participants gained field experience measuring sections of the carbonaceous marl member of the Monterey Formation, and collected samples to be analyzed for sedimentary geochemistry in class during the upcoming quarter.
